Mark returns and still waiting on insurers, need
more detailed estimate, this waiting game is quite tedious especially where we
are situated as it is very difficult to even get out of the port as no real
assessable roads except for one very busy dual carriageway.
Eventually got the go ahead from the insurance
company to start repairs here at the yard but unfortunately will not cover the
props!,Got a taxi into town and had a celebration supper it was like getting out
of 'Colditz'.
Progress of work on the keels and rudders is
very slow and we have to rattle the workers cages from time to time, but saying
that the mechanics have made a very swift start and completed the job in less
time than estimated, thank goodness as labour is quite expensive.
Managed to find a vet for Lily
for her annual check up and booster.Very friendly staff although none could
speak English I was so glad that I had Lily's vaccination card with me so that
the right medication was given.
The technical director informed us that it will
take another week before we are out of here.
However we have now discovered a route out of here
via the railway. It entails crossing two sets of tracks which brings us alongside
a dual carriageway and we then have a short walk across a bridge to some traffic
lights into San Gabriel a suburb of Alicante.
