Still here due to weather storms forecast over
quite a large area of The Med.Hope to move on Thurday towards
Paxoi, Greece.The Marina here has not been too bad at all, no real facilities
but as we said before a good bolt hole.We are alongside and have no access to
water or electricity but hey we don't need them for the moment as solar
panels and wind generator working like a dream and also we had made quite
a bit of water on our passage to Italy.
Roccella Ionica is a funny place which grows on you
the longer you stay here.The Marina provide a a bike service which is
free,they only ask for a contribution for bike maintenance.We have been making
good use of this service and have cycled quite away from The Marina.There is a
restaurant here in The Marina which is very popular with the locals and is busy
every evening,they specialise in metre length pizzas and you can choose an
assortment of toppings,despite Marks large appetite we settled on a 1/2 metre
extra spicy,which was quite good.
The local police patrol here in the evening and
come to the boats to pick up a levy!!!
Met a charming American couple off "Seraphim and we
have had a few drinks we them on each others boats.They are headed to Siracusa
but have been able to give us quite a bit of ifo on Greece as they have just
spent the last 3 years there.
Headed out to village for more provisions before we
set sail, making an early start tomorrow so it will be off to bed
early!!!
