Wind now non existent and caught in the
doldrums.Bit of a dilemma now as we have to decided what to do as we will not
have enough fuel to make it to Tenerife! Decided against going to Agidir as not
in the mood to haggle etc. Also paper work can be time consuming and as the only
reason to go there is to refuel we have opted to got to La Graciosa, a small
island off the coast of Lanzarote instead.Mark switched the engines off for a
while to top up with fuel from the extra gerry cans we had in
reserve for such an occasion.Good time to try out the cruise shute which we have
not used before.Good exercise but still only making about 1-2knts,Not very much
we can do at present apart from have a cup of tea and enjoy the late
afternoon sun.Seeing quite a few turtles and a couple of dolphin that have been
following the boat from afar.Tempted to have a swim but Samantha put me off
by stating that the depth was over 1000m and that I would probably resemble fish
food at the surface. Rang home on the sat phone
to inform the girls of our possible late arrival in Tenerife, very good
connection better than some local calls we make.Chance on hearing where we
were informed us that we were in Tiger Shark country, and that their
favourite food is turtle, so although the water looks inviting I am
definitely not swimming. After making some further calculations have agreed to
run the motor tonight and sail at first light.
