Arose to another pleasant day sun shining. Only
another 40 nm to go to Gib.Lots of fishermen who have no idea of rules of the
road etc. Were watchful of Tunny nets which were possibly being laid just out of
the port.Calm seas unable to sail so motored most of the way.Arrived Gib only to
find that Sheppard Marina no longer existed! One of the oldest and largest of
the marinas!Making way for redevelopment.Had our first experience of Med
Berthing.Mark handled boat very well I must say!Went out for a well earned drink
after cleaning up.Gib is not as cheap as possibly you might imagine.Prices the
same as Uk in fact in some instances much more expensive So much for a duty free
island! Customs actually asked us if we had a wines on board! First impressions
of Island are very grubby, smelly streets smelling of fish fat, looks better at
night with all the lights, illuminated like a Christmas Tree.
Will contact family in the morning as a surprise
visit as they are not aware of our arrival.
