After leaving Santa Eulalia and having had a very
rocky night at anchor we were met again with wind and current against us sea
state was slight in the beginning but soon that changed and we were getting
swells of about 2m.Thankfully arrived Puerto Anderaitx at around 4.30pm ,journey
time of approx.8hrs from Ibiza to Mallorca.Again another pretty harbour
,apparently the oldest natural harbour in Mallorca. We anchored in 4m sand and
weed which again was quite hard to penetrate.Much better night, very calm waters
and warm balmy night.
22nd May
Awoke to another lovely morning, went out in dinghy
to quay to check out how we get water for our next leg of our journey.Mark
started his routine checks on the engines.
Alas to our dismay the starboard engine is now
leaking oil and it looks as if it is the same problem that we experienced with
our port engine in Fomentera,to crown this the port engine saildrive has
water in it !!!.
Yanmar yet again contacted, again we were lucky and
the harbour has quite god facilities.
Engineer came out to boat and tells us he will be
able to sort out starboard engine but we will have to sail to Palma to be lifted
for the port engine!!!
What a start to our season of sailing.Nothing to be
done at present as it is the weekend so we will just need to keep a vigilant
watch on our anchor as we do seem to experience quite gusty katabatic winds here
in the afternoon.
Busty will get a bus to catch his flight to
Teneriffe on Sunday.
