Position 12.42.314N 61.19.719W
Raised anchor 0920 this morning for a motor and sail to
Canouan. Still pretty breezy with 20+ knots at times unfortunately from the
exact direction we wanted to go. The sea between Mayreau and Canouan fairly
rough with a short chop and did manage to keep any waves from breaking over us.
We have anchored just off the Tamarind Beach Hotel at 1140, in 4m of water,
looks very upmarket. It is closed so will not get a chance to sample its
delights. This Island has the north gated off as well as the south to the
airport due to some obviously exclusive resorts therefore we won't be able to
get around the whole island. Already today seem some private jets takeoff from
the airport less than a mile away.
Will go ashore soon to see if our wallets can get topped
up and for a meal if anything open, which from where we are have not seen
anything doing business. Hard life in the sunshine and sandy
beaches.
