Finally the the swell/waves are subsiding and shipping
is moving in/out of the port. Late this afternoon restrictions relaxed a little
more and anything 8m or longer can navigate in/out. Today we have paid our
marina fees and filled diesel tank as we do forecast as least 24 hours motoring
on the predicted 6 day passage to Las Palmas, Gran Canaria. Seagull pooh washed
off solar panel, they are really messing creatures here. Just like the Vendee
Globe we will not have any spectators for our departure which we plan to leave
8am in the morning to ensure during daylight we gain a few miles offshore into
safety before next round on big swells due for your next storm after this
weekend.
Port authorities are working hard removing all the
vegetation that is milling around in the marina and port. Marina staff have
removed more damaged pontoons/jetties including the one we were berthed
on.
Nail varnish mentioned yesterday was almost exact match
to the paint job on the boat and used to seal the scratch received on eventful
evening
Today weather been great no clouds and 23
degrees.
Next update from sea.
