Back in Rodney Bay

Windy 23 mile beat from Soufriere to Rodney Bay. Wind sometimes 25 knots true but very pleasant as warm and the odd wave does not take long to evaporate from one. Saw the pleasure catamarans sailing down to Soufriere with their guests for the mud baths. A couple of them caught us up on the way back as they cheated and motored. On entering the the bay we decided on a high risk strategy and go between an outlying rock and the island. Depth did drop to read 2.7M, all very easy in the UK but when just a quarter a mile offshore and the depth meter does not register as too deep. Very shifty going through the gap and did not get the expected lift either. Anyway a lovely sail for the last day of the year in wind, sunshine and warmth.

Hopefully we will be able to get our laundry done and even have a fresh water shower and for me a shave to welcome the New Year a few hours behind most of you.

Hope you all do have a Healthy and Happy New Year from all aboard Rainmaker.
