Saturday 10th July

After a peaceful night's sleep we set off from Loch Na Droma Buidhe to catch the ebb tide. At the exit from the loch we saw two harbour porpoises - they are not as sociable as dolphins, and rather than joining us, they swam away.

Heading back down the Sound of Mull, there was little wind, and that from directly ahead.

We entered Loch Aline and tied up on a pontoon berth at Lochaline Harbour. Bacon rolls for lunch.

Walked up to the village and did a little shopping. The road passes the sand/silica mine which is the only producer of pure silica for fine glass/lens-making in the UK.
