28th June

Spent the day in Islay. Having been unable to book any distillery tours or tastings we managed to book in to visit the Laphroaig shop! We bought some whisky, and they gave us free miniatures of Laphroaig 10yr and tasting glasses.

We spent the afternoon lazing in the sun and then went to the Islay Hotel for dinner and a couple of postprandial whiskies.

29th June

We set off for what promised to be a lovely broad reach across to the island of Gigha but the wind rapidly died to nothing, only filling in as we approached the harbour at Ardminish. We picked up a visitors buoy, blew up the dinghy and went ashore for a beer at The Boathouse.  Then back to the boat for the second half of England v Germany football.

WiFi and even 4G are sadly lacking here so no pictures until the next post.
