We watched several boats depart the anchorage at Craighouse and struggle with vast masses of kelp dragged up by their anchors. It was therefore with some trepidation that we prepared to leave. Our anchor came up with no weed at all, the result of picking our spot carefully yesterday. Skipper smug!

We motored across Jura sound in variable amounts of mist and no wind but by the time we reached the entrance to Loch Sween the sun was breaking through. We cruised 5 miles up the Loch to the beautiful Fairy Isles anchorage, tucked into a pool behind the rocks, on which a seal and her pup were sunning themselves. There is the possibility of seeing an osprey here, we gather.

We inflated the kayak, and enjoyed exploring the bay.
