19th July Santa Carles to Tarragona

After being stuck for two days due to high winds we
set off early for Tarragona. We will probably stay here two days to visit the
old town. However from the sea it doesn't look as big as expexted.
The trip up here involved going around the large
land mass around the river Ebrio and the across the Golf de Jordie to
Tarragona. As usual we had some head winds for the first half of the trip which
for a while was fairly strong giving some concern that the high winds weren't
over. However soon it abated and swung around giving us a pleasant sail for the
second half of the trip.
For those of you who doubt there are dolphins in
the Med we have the proof. In the middle of the Golf de Jordie some 10 miles off
shore we spotted 'it' . - see pictures. We quickly turned to play with our new
friend. So friendly was he that he jumped aboard and is now a new member of
crew.
I guess he got blown out to sea in the high winds
of the last two days and welcomes a new home.
