Having had a disturbed night at anchorage at Ensuenda we were up early and whilst the wind had abated a little I decided to way anchor and head for the sheltered port of Cartagena quickly.

The wind soon picked up again right on the noise and the sky was full of dark clouds - the first we have seen for weeks, So I decide to blast as quickly as we could by engine through the sea. Again our Swedish friends followed us out with clearly had the same idea.

By 1.00 pm we were tied up and although the clouds had gone the wind was continuing to rise.

Here at Cartagena we are tied up to the town wall - happily this is not really a tourist town and it is quite quiet. We plan to stay a few days to restock with provisions and see some of the historic Roman sites etc. The Marina club has a pool which is very refreshing given that the temperature is now in the upper 30's. Plus there is still a strongish NE wind we would have to punch into at the present.
