The plan was to go up the coast to Campello stopping on route at the island of Tabarca for lunch. Anyhow it was so nice off the island of Tabarca swimming etc. we decided to stay the afternoon and go to the marina at nearby Sainte Palo.

Picture is of island.

The wind did pick up as the afternnoon went on - it was amusing watching a number of motor boats drag thier anchors while their owners were ashore lunching. That is until the motor boat ahead of us drifted onto us - I quickly let out some more anchor chain so he could drift by and started up the engine so we could keep clear of him. (Whilst there were people aboard they were clearly passengers and didn't know anything about the boat - the owner turned up at the end of the fun). We then wound in chain as he passed by, but it soon became clear his anchor had drag over ours. Finally I had to lift our anchor with his hooked on the end of mine - got this off with the boat hook and we were free at last.

With temperature in land reaching a summer high of 102 degrees or so it was nice to be on the water in a breeze. However with temperatures like that the sea breeze picked up and our short trip to Sainte Palo was in 22 knots of wind and a large swell over the realatively shoal water.sending things crashing around the boat as she rolled with it beam on. Alison survived this well - she is getting quite a sailor.

Anyway we are going slowly now waiting for Paul & Laurens arrival on holiday in the area at the weekend.
