This is the only port between the Gulf de Lion and
the mouth of the Rhone (just before Marseille) and is in the middle of the
Camargue - dispite its reputation we haven't seen a mosquito yet (fingers
crossed). A fairly modern place but a small old town in the centre.
A cosy little port with lots of boats pulling in
for the night on route East or West like us. We have been virtually the only
foreigners in the last few ports but here we have quite a few Italians - seems
this is about as far as they go West for their holidays, having spoken to one
last night. There is also a boat flying a Japanese flag - would like to know
more about them? A German, Irish and another flag that we just don't know
yet.
We had our first experience of mooring between
posts yesterday - luckily there wasn't much wind so it went quite
well.
There are also some nice beachs right by us so we
have done some swimming, albeit we are finding the water much colder
than Spain at only 22 degrees. Tomorrow we may push on to Port Louis on the
Rhone river mouth to see about a place for winter storage. All being subject to
weather - a strong wind was forecasted yesterday for the coming days but today
they seem to have changed their minds.
