Yesterday we left the Island of Giglio in a flat calm and headed off South - The wind slowly picked up during the day from the West to North west by early afternoon. Initially motoring, then motor sailing and finally just sailing in about 15 knots of wind. This particular leg wasn't particularly interesting and apart from seeing a few other sailing boats going the other way and loads of fishing trawlers (unusual for the Med.) the day passed - arriving at Port Traiano which is just South of the commercial Port of Civitavecchia, which was full of cruise ships, as the base for visiting Rome.

About an hour after arriving another English boat came in and moored up just by us. It was the yacht and family we (Phil, Rick & I) meet in Corsica - Port Taverna - about 10 days ago.

This is a large modern marina which is pretty non descript but as it is the first we have found in Italy with washing facilities we have decided to stay an extra night and do the domestic things - washing and stocking up with supplies.

Today about four other yachts arrived for the night - all being French boats. On talking to them they all left France about the same time as us and have the same stories about getting stuck/delayed by the bad weather at the end of May.

No pictures today - nothing worth taking.

Tomorrow all being well we are off to Rome - well the river/marina's that serve/served Rome - which is actually about 20 miles inland. We probably will move straight on South to Naples and visit Rome on our return trip to France.
