Having woken up fairly early we upped anchor and initially had to motor in pretty much a dead calm. After a couple of hours passing St Tropez the wind filled in, as forecasted, from the East – so right behind us. As the wind wasn’t too strong we set the Spinnaker put out our deck chairs on the after deck and basked in the sun. Actually we got some funny looks from passing boats, the two of us sitting out on the back sunbathing, no one at the helm, as the boat happily sailed itself with just a spinnaker set.

3.00 o’clock we arrived back at our home port ‘Port de Bormes’. Being sheltered from the wind in the marina, it really was hot – so off we went for a swim in the pool that we have here in the marina. It really was very refreshing.

So it is the end of our trip which has taken us just over 800 miles. Happily the only damage being one pair of shoes and a mooring line washed overboard in the heavy seas off the Italian coast and a bruised shin as Alison tried abandoning ship/falling  off the back of the boat – which is now pretty much healed.

I was also pleased to hear that our berth here at Bormes has been rented out quite a bit so that will  hopefully pay for some of the marina costs we have incurred elsewhere.

Kathryn arrives on Monday followed by a few other visitors, so July is going to be a month of pottering around locally, swimming etc.. Hence, other than perhaps the occasional blog/picture, don’t expect too much news/entries from now on.

THAT’S ALL FOR NOW.
