We sailed on North today into the First of the ‘Cinque Terre’ Ports – ‘PortoVenere, which is just by the bay of La Spezia. A beautiful place again, full of history being one of the homes of our poet Byron.

The sea was still a bit rolly but with a gentle wind was nothing like the last leg. Unfortunately the weather is not quite as one might hope in the Med. at the moment but having said that it is nine o’clock at night and I am typing this outside in shorts and tee shirt so I guess all is relative.

We might not move much tomorrow and perhaps explore the bays,  Islands, anchorages around La Spezia before moving on towards Genoa.
