So we got a taxi down to Hewanorra airport, to say a sad farewell to Jan and Ilka. They were staying nearby for a couple of days, then continuing their travels in search of wind and waves. They were off to Hawaii via Miami, so that Jan could get some serious windsurfing in, and Ilka will be kitesurfing too. I wish them the greatest luck in the world, a lovely couple who only got together a few months earlier in Mauritius, and were clearly in love.

But what I had been waiting for was Cathy to fly in. Her flight arrived a little early from London, and it was so nice to see her again after 2 months apart.

I had arranged a "taxi" to take us back to the marina. Not quite Charlie Tango, but a helicopter nevertheless. It was a great view over the central mountains of St Lucia, then we dropped down over Marigot Bay where the pilot had his boat, and landed at Castries. Instead of an hour and a half in a taxi it's only 14 mins.
