17:08.85N 62:37.83W 21/3/2012 Yesterday we had a good motor sail down from Saba to Nevis. The plan was to just stop here overnight under a yellow flag and set off early the next morning to make for Guadeloupe. But when we got here I needed to change the watermaker filter after a week in the soup which is Simpsons Bay on St Martin, and then the generator broke down. “Luckily” its broken down before so I knew what the problem was, so I had to spend an hour changing the fuel filter. Yum, dinner with that unmistakable and very persistent aroma of diesel. So I decided to forgo the 0530 start for a long slog to Guadeloupe, and stay here another day “with engine problems” if the local immigration people ask. Its true really… |
