Yesterday the winds dropped somewhat, so we got ambitious and tried out the “Big Naughty” sail. This is a furling gennaker like the Naughty sail, but bigger.... All was going well until the shackle pin holding the foot decided to go for a swim, leaving us with a lot of square metres of cloth streaming out in front of the boat. Luckily it was easy to recover by just furling, but nevertheless it has been put away until it learns to behave.

On watch last night Pete was treated to dolphins playing in the bow waves by moonlight, quite a special experience.

Pete was also treated to “the one that got away”. Just as he was about to take his first bite of lunch the rod went wild and he spent 10 mins fighting the “monster” dorado. Just as it was nearby it got away, but we have a photo I think.
