From Tobago Cays we came up the windward side of Canouan, that gives a better wind angle for the trip to Mustique. It was a bit lumpy but we were able to carry it for most of the trip.

Mustique is a private island with only about 90 houses, all of which are owned by the rich and famous. Mick Jagger apparently has two houses here, having bought next door to stop the noise. Ilka thought she had seen him, but it turned out to be Rod Stewart.

We picked up a buoy just off Basils Bar. They charge EC$200 (£50) whether you stay for one night or three, but they are by far and away the best moorings I have seen anywhere in the Caribbean. Heavy chain going to the seabed, a large buoy, and a substantial stainless swivel on top. If only all moorings out here could be the same! The only problem is that the swivel is near the water, so impossible to reach from the bow. The problem was solved when Ilka dived over and attached the rope by hand. Good crew eh?
