On Saturday we had a great day trip to see Lisbon. The train from here only takes about 40 mins, and from there it was a short walk to a delightful square surrounded by historical buildings and fronting the river.

They have refurbished some old 1905 trams which do a circuit of the old town, its highly recommended. It goes down some very narrow streets, and up some pretty steep hills. The old town is fascinating, some still with echoes of the Moorish occupation that ended in the 12th century.

We also came across “Vini Portugal”, which has free wine tasting from different regions of the country. As we were the only customers they stretched the number of tastings, which ended in a small nap on the train home.

Sunday was boat work day. We successfully serviced three winches, which is hard work in the blazing hot sunshine. but the main achievement was to not drop any of the tiny springs or other vital bits into the oggin, and not too many bits left over.
