Here’s a quick update of the last few days. Having had a frenetic few weeks getting the house into some sort of order we finally departed Poole on Saturday 23rd July 2011. Bill caught the “Jurassic Express” tourist bus from Exeter to Poole (only 4 hours but a very picturesque trip apparently). He was absolutely brilliant and deserves a medal for helping out. When he arrived Salila was just about afloat with all the gear and “I’m sure that will come in handy” stuff. I need a bigger boat. I was considering towing a trailer but apparently that's not the done thing.

We had a very pleasant MOTOR to Portland, Dartmouth and Plymouth. We were heading South West, so you know where the wind was coming from don’t you.

I’m now in Plymouth, trying to find where Bill hid things.

The current plan is to depart for Biscay on Friday 29th, just after lunch... I’d better not say this too loudly, but the current weather forecast is pretty good (well, winds not coming from the South West anyway)
