More Mid Atlantic excitement

When we were in Las Palmas all the catamarans were in the same place, and we made friends with a lovely New Zealand couple on a Lagoon 421 called Happy Cat. When they were about 6 days out they saw a sail on the horizon, which seemed to be catching them a little faster than normal. It turned out to be “Banque Populaire” that had set out to break the Round the World record. They had spotted Happy Cat and decided to go and say hello.

 

Happy Cat was doing a respectable 6-8 knots, but Banque Populaire was doing 34knots. Phew. The video is on the link below.
