A nice downwind sail to the island of Culebra, which is part of Puerto Rico. Checked in near the airport, which is only walking distance from the dinghy dock.

 

It has a huge lagoon with a very narrow entrance, but as the whole area was used for many years by the US Navy the charts are pretty good. None of this “Warning, this area is incompletely surveyed” that I’ve seen in many places.

 

At “The Dinghy Bar” where all the local cruisers go, they have semi tame Tarpon,  large fish that is apparently good sport fishing (which is code for difficult to catch and not good to eat – I don’t understand why people do that!). I can tell you they like steak and chips, but not bread….
