15:52.238N 61:35.116W 30/3/2012 That was fun. A nice beam reach down from Pointe a Pitre to The Saintes, a small group of islands just off the southern coast of Guadeloupe. We had one reef in the main and the full jib, hardly and sea running, and so had a very pleasant few hours relaxed sailing doing 8 knots much of the time. It’s very pretty here, an enclosed bay with islands dotted around. The village is very touristy, but not unpleasant for that and all done with a strong Gallic influence. |
