We left Marigot Bay in the French side of St Martin at midnight, and had a fast sail to Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands. It was a bit lumpy and the wind a tad higher than forecast, but as it was almost downwind not a problem.

We went round to Spanish Town on Virgin Gorda as its one of the few places you can check into the country. Luckily the Port Authority, Customes and Immigration are all in the same building a short walk from the marina. The port and Customs people could not have been more helpful, but Immigration had gone to lunch, telling no one when he would return. The helpful Customs people tried to call their office, and after 1.5 hours of waiting he turned up – Mr Grumpy and unpleasant!

Despite being half empty it was the most expensive marina we have had over here to date, US$108 a night – not worth it, and not surprising they are empty.
