Well here is just an introduction of the team I have to deliver
SY Wilhelm
from Tahiti to Auckland
The best made plans of mice and men,
After an early morning start of the engine to charge the
batteries there was smell of melting plastic from the engine bay. I had
previously work on the alternator wiring while Ross & Anne were still here
and it appeared that the problem had been sorted....apparently
not!
With the help of Simon our next door neighbour on the Marina we
removed and stripped the old alternator and found what you can see on the
attached photo’s. Fortunately Ross had a spare on board and we fitted that one
and are now running it while in the marina to see if its ok before we head out
later this afternoon.
I’m hoping that this is the only drama on this
delivery.
