We arrived in Penrhyn this morning at 0200 and anchor just south of Taruia Passage approx 0.3nms. This was supposed to be a good anchorage but we dragged the anchor 3 times during the night which didn't make for a good nights sleep. When we tried to start Orongo first thing this morning the engine was having difficulty but did start eventually, by the time we moored up at the Quarantine Dept in Gudgeon Bay the Engine wouldn't start again and was forcing water out of the air intact of the Turbo!!! I suspect that the head gasket has gone add that to the diesel bug problem in the starboard fuel tank things don't look good for the rest of the trip at this point, I know I can solve the diesel bug problem but I suspect that I will have difficulties getting a head gasket to Penrhyn anytime in this decade so we are all unsure of what the future holds at this point in time I will let you know what progress has been made as I get through all the tasks in hand.

I can only conclude that this trip is getting harder and harder work and in fact it hasn't been easy from the start.
All that we know i that it will be dam difficult to get off Penrhyn and would be easier if we were on Manihiki as they do have a flight from there.

Thanks
