In complete contrast to the previous night last night was not without its dramas firstly we have discovered that the batteries are not holding a charge for any prelonged period of time which means we have to run the engine every watch. Then the wind came in big style and after putting in the first reef then the second we had to put the third reef in while it was blowing over 30 knts, interesting to say the least especially when you factor in that the second reef line is also the third reef line!!! This procedure is tricky in calmer conditions well lets just say last night it was a little more complicated. The basics of it are easy first dop the main down hook the third reef eye in place and tighten up the haliyard up, next put a strap round the second reef Well! you get the point it's a pain in the ass but to be fair to the crew on board they did what was required and it all went as smoothly as could be expected.

During this time of frisky weather we discovered that the forward hatch cover resembles an in yacht water fall and does actually seal that well, just provideing one way into the cabin...hmmm, i'm glad i'm not up there.,

Since earlier this morning the wind has been steady with between 18 to 25 knts, not too uncomfortable but a couple of the crew aren't exaltly feeling 100% so they are not in the best of spirits, I can't blame them really their forward berth is the one at the front with the built in wardrobes and comes with a novel feature, a waterfall! Not much else to say really i'll re post yesterdays report as the latitude is wrong. This afternoon as been a little bit of a mare, rough confused seas which are coming in any which way and are ocassionally dumping a shit load of sea water on us!! however we are making good head way and should be seeing the wind start dropping at about midnight our time.  Watch this space for an Eta in the next couple of days, With the current forecast staying around for the next couple of days we should of broken the back of the trip by Friday and if all goes could be in late Monday or early Tuesday, we will see.

Cheers
