Well we have turn the wick up as far as getting into Eden, we have notified Customs that we intend to clear at Eden, at which point we will hopefully fit and calibrate the replacement Autopilot which will make life a lot easy for James and I to complete the delivery. If we keep to schedule we are hop
ing to be in Eden on Thursday late afternoon early evening.

Earlier this morning I called the guy’s up to furl the genoa as we were getting a little hard pressed, well when James pulled the furling line all that happened was that we had a hell of a lot rope in the cockpit and the Genoa was still fully out!!!, for a short period of time  we
were a little perplexed as to what could of gone wrong and then we realised that the rope was still attached to the barrel and nothing was happening. So James got on the bow of the boat to investigate wearing, hmm I'll get to that later.  When James got to the furler, the barrel that the rope goes around was turn independently of the sail furling system, which it shouldn’t.
James rolled the rope back onto the barrel and miraculously found the Allen screw had worked its way loose and was still sitting on the foredeck! while the boat was still pitching around on the waves!

We then discovered that we had not got the correct tool for the job i.e. a Allen key, so we came up with a wicked and devious plan. We found a blade screw driver that fitted so that we could tighten it up and used some sikaflex sealant as a thread lock to stop it coming undone before we hit land...job done!

The only down side to this story of success is that Leigh and I will be seeking physiological  therapy at the earliest possible time, I think that I speak for both of us when I say the image of James head down and Arse in the air wearing only a tee shirt and a pair of Jockey pant will haunt us for some time to come lol.

So that’s the start of our day and I’m sure there is more to follow.

Cheers

Mark, James and Leigh

I’ve been asked to explain why James was wearing well to be honest not a lot, well the truth is because he is a bit of an exhibitionist on the quite!! not really he was asleep in bed when I called on all hands. But that’s not really funny at all is it.
