The last couple of days we have been making 160nms days, I have amended my delivery log spread sheet so that i can get a 24hrs figure every 4hour shift just to keep an eye on things. in the last 24hrs midday to midday We covered 159nms and we are now only 950.5 nms from Auckland clearance dock near Westhaven marina.

Over the past twelve hour we have been motor sailing with the main up, only because with the wind directly behind we can control the main via a preventer better than we can the genoa and to be honest the foresail was flapping around too much.

There as been some light rain today up to midday anyhow, about which I shall be writing a pretty stern letter to our travel agents Ross & Anne as this was never mentioned in the travel Brochure!! We will be topping off the diesel tanks in the next hour. Just in case that the weather takes a turn for the worse and it is not conducive to pouring diesel into the tanks in the near future.

It is noticeable getting cooler at night now and the day time temp has dropped to a chilling 29C ‘ that's especially for you folks in the Northern hemisphere lol!”

All is good apart from that and at the moment we look set for a 16/17th March arrival into Auckland

Cheers
