Well the wind has really crap out on for the last hours actually I think we were going backwards for a while but we have started to move again now, to tell you the truth every time I cross the Tasman sea the wind is always against me and not with me I am beginning to wonder what I have done wrong in a previous life to deserve this!!

We had a problem with the bow navigation light, after investigation the fitting and the wiring had corroded but we managed to fix that but it will need a little attention when we get into Whangarei (donât ask me for an ETA I have no idea) The sheet that furls the Yankee has chafed on something and the outer sheet sheaving has worn though when I can find some whipping twine I will repair that so that it doesnât become a problem.

Our water supplies are good and the batteries are hanging in there ok. We are approximately 295 nms from north cape and however slow and painful we are making progress toward New Zealand.

Hopefully we will run into one of the game fishing boats in the next 24 hrs and can beg borrow or steal some diesel to get us closer to home. In the meantime itâs back to the book reading and keeping Mustang going as fast as she can in the right direction.

Just a little note for Rob Hamill I think we managed to cover less miles in a day then your best day!! go figure.

Anyway got to go now.
