Well having finally shut down the engine at 2400 hours and raised the No. 2 jib we were making reasonable progress to Sydney all night and averaged 7.5 knots for 8 hours however after that the wind strength increased the head sail was dropped and to top it all the wind swung round to the south so now we are on the same course motor sailing with the main up albeit on the oppersite tack!! go figure all with the space of 10 mintues.

People always say strange things happen at sea now I can prove they do. Anyhow we are still waiting for the wind so stop coming from approximately 20 degrees off the bow and to allow us some down wind sailing....or is it just a myth in the southern hemisphere..well stay tuned I'll let you know if things change I'm hoping later today, but I'm not holding my breath.

We did manage to run a mouse for the third reef and put 60 ltrs of fuel in the tank, which was not particulery easy with the sea head on, all that said it all went remakably well and i'm now continplating bed for a couple of hours before starting my next watch.

Anyhow have fun
