Well not much to report over the last 24hrs, at midnight we had the
following daily runs, 12 hrs 90nms, 24 hrs 167.5nms the 12 hours up till
midnight were good we had 15knts of breeze with full main up and were making
great progress, and a couple of mins later we had the motor on and were
doing 3 knts less, great night but no wind!
From midday today we had the following daily runs, 12 hrs 67nms, 24 hrs
155nms
as you can see fromthe figures we are struggling for speed, but with no wind
and diesel to conserve we are going as fast as out limited resources will
alllow us (i.e. Diesel and wind) hopefully we will be into some wind in the
next 5/6 hours and can shut the engine down and do some quicker sailing only
time will tell at the moment.
Our hopes of getting into port on Friday 16th pm seemed to be getting
stretched out to Sat 17th pm but that again is wind and diesel dependant.
Apart from the glume and despair over the time its taking to get this yacht
to Geelong, the weather is nice and warm and cooking is alot easier when the
cooks not being thrown all over the boat along with the food..situation
normal.
Anyway cheers from Akatea.
