Hi all, yesterday we were about 20 nms south of our current position then I
the weather there was a warning of a Cat 1 Cyclone that is going to start
hitting the east coast sometime today, so given the conditions that we
already had 25 to 35 knots of wind with 2 to 3 meter seas and making really
slow progress 2 to 3 knots, I thought that it was better to turn round and
headed for Turtle Island, to anchor down the aptly named Escape river. Not
much choice really it's the only safe anchoridge for 60nms. so in case
anyone was following our progress and also the weather down here I thought I
would let you know we are safe and sound and waiting this one out until
Friday or Saturday, when we will push on to Cairns to refuel before the
final leg down to Brisbane,
Have fun, be safe Mark
