We were a little worried whether or not the fresh water would last until
Darwin!...... since about 0800 this morning it's being raining we have all
had showers outside apart form Ben who is as I write outside now lathering
up. The main tanks have been topped off all the auxiliary bottles have been
swapped for fresh rain water and we are now replacing the water in the five
or so 40 liter water cans. There is a dustbin that is 3/4 full, so I fairly
confident that water is no longer an issue, once I've swapped all the water
in the water cans there will be no where to put the water apart from buckets
and the dustbin all of which are pretty full. So in order to get to Darwin
our only issue now is Diesel and weather dependant we will get some
favorable wind in the next couple of days at the moment we are motoring
because what we are lacking in wind is made up by the rain coming down in
stair rods! We are moving on long at a reasonable pace at the moment and
have averaged 150nms, not as good as in the Indian Ocean but this as good as
it get somewhere in the South china sea (sounds like something out of a bond
movie, only I can never remember it raining so much!) heading for the Java
sea which we should be in at the end of today. the position report was at
1200 boat time on 23/10/07, which was 17:10 NZ time.I'll drop another report
in a couple of days
