In the last 24hrs we have covered another respectable distance of 162nms leaving us with 1227 nms to the east coast of New Zealand.

We topped the diesel up today it took 100 litres which work our to 2 ltrs /hr and that was a mixture or usages i.e. making water, charging the batteries and some motoring. We now have a full tank and an additional 200ltrs on deck as contingency, more than enough to get Wilhelm back to Auckland.

The weather or a change is doing exactly as predicted and had dropped right off this morning but is slowly building and at the moment we are doing a reasonable 6knt, but i do have the engine running a little making water and charging batteries up, one of the two rear banks (No. 2) does seem to have a problem with holding a charge, it could be old age? who knows but for this trip i don’t have much of a problem with it.

From a crew perspective at the moment they are flat out............sunbathing!!

On that note i’ll sign off

Cheers
