We were having problems with the Generator stopping when a little load put on it whilst running, we changed the Raycon filter which looked dirty and that didn't work then we bleed the system to check for air leaks and that didn't and eventually Chris Johnson noticed that the return on the injector system had a hair line crack in it and was loosing diesel so we have fixed that with epoxy 'Knead it' and we are waiting to see if that solves that problem  1200 W
e tacked over on to port about an hour ago because the wind had shifted and port is the making board, VMG is now 5.6knts and we approximately 36Â off course. Which was far better than the other tack. We are using the engine on tick over to steady her up.

Well this trip is increasingly harder work, last night @1915 I check the fuel level in the tanks we had a combined total of around 240 litres. More than enough to charge the batteries and run the Nav gear until we arrived in Whangarei. This morning after a night of running the engine at 1000 to 1100 rpm we ran out of diesel!! so at this moment the ironic thing is that we found and repaired the problem with the generator which was the impellor, but we cant us it because of the lack of diesel......Doh!!

All that said we have the sails up and are slowly sailing towards NZ against the easterly wind, we are all safe we will just be a little later into port.
