Our next stop was Carriacou, arriving in Hillesborough where we checked in with Customs and Immigration, then headed over to Sandy Island just over a mile away.  This is within their National Park but only had one mooring buoy in a pretty bad state, so we anchored in sand and took the dinghy ashore.  The island is a beautiful spit of sand, locals have planted trees to try and hold the island together, and it was totally deserted so we had it completely to ourselves for the afternoon.

A snorkel off the beach brought some stunning scenery, from sand to a carpet of velvety greens where lots of fish and moray eels rummaged and hid. Then the coral heads were reached with a stunning aray of jouvenile fish and whilst filming with the GoPro a stingray glided over the coral like a low flying aircraft.
