Whale Kill!

                | position 65:25N 052:54W After a peaceful night at anchor we woke to a 
glorious day ,wall to wall sunshine, no wind and no fog! We went by dinghy 
across to the abandoned fishing harbour of Tovqussaq.We raised anchor at eleven 
and motored along the inner lead route to Maniitsoq. tricky navigation but 
stunning scenary.We spotted an icebery and went over to have a close up.picture 
.It was what is known as a dry dock iceberg., A U shaped "drydock" at or near 
the surface with twin columns. Later we saw a fishing boat chasing a Whale, 
harpoon gun at the ready! later we berthed in Maniitsoq and the fishing 
boat came alongside us They were all smiles .Yes they had got their Whale.In a 
way I am glad that we were not there to see the 
"kill"    |
