My last diary was on the 18th as we were leaving Gibraltar. Since then I had not been feeling well and just concentrated on sailing the boat back to Lagos.Sorry for the lack of info but now back to normal ! we sailed across the straits of Gib a huge distance of 15 n miles to Ceuta which is Spanish but in another Continent. Ceuta for the Spanish is a bit like Gibraltar is for the English. Not ours to reason why but before making claims to Gib maybe they should first hand Ceuta back to the Moroccans !!
Anyway we left Ceuta at first light and set off along the Straits of Gibraltar ingesting quantities of Ibuprofen and Senopods and flying along with 25 knots of wind behind us. We followed the African coast and crossed the traffic separation zone from Tangier to Tariffa missing the worst of the currents.and passing the edge of the Trafalgar banks about four miles off Cape Trafalgar. From there to Lagos uneventful until A coast guard rib out of Cadiz (50 miles away) boarded us !! It did wonders for my constipation!! and they didn't find any drugs, guns or illegal immigrants. We finally entered the river at Lagos at eight o'clock, 25 hrs and 180 n miles.
End of trip 6500 n miles and we spend about a week here packing the boat up for the winter and deciding where we go next.
My first ideas are Cape Town via Brazil and Argentina. I welcome any thoughts from any of you that follow my blog, or am I just writing for my own fun !!
