On Sunday we spent the night in Caleta Sally a peaceful anchorage just round the headland from the Glacier Ventisquero in Seno Eyre. We are surrounded by big chunks of ice even in the anchorage so having to be careful.Monday morning we motored to the foot of the Glacier for a photo shoot.Huge noises as large walls of ice dropped into the sea,not the best place to take a GRP yacht to! We motored very slowly with a spotter on the bow and there was ice in the water for ten miles.
We arrived in Puerto Eden Monday evening.Today we are having a rest day.Puerto Eden is a small Fishing village population 170 people and this is the first house or person we have seen since leaving Puerto Williams some 700nmiles away!! We took on board 800 litres of diesel and then went shopping in the supermercardo. This was smaller than the smallest village shop I have ever seen and not a lot we could buy.We will stay tonight as there is a supply ship arriving in the morning where we have high hopes of getting fresh vegetables.Don't hold your breath! The Armada have been very helpful and there is free internet in the school which is the largest building which houses 200 children!! I don't understand Perhaps they are expecting a baby boom!
