We said we were going to Caleta Ancha but instead we went to Caleta Silva on Isla Londonderry as it was getting late and the weather meant we were down to 4 knots.Having a few problems as the electronic charts are about 2 nautical miles out which meant that the anchorage was on the wrong side of the Island. Thank goodness for paper charts!! We spent Saturday at anchor blowing and wet but saw a weather window for Sunday and set off in the early hours (3 am). A great day covering 101 nm and anchoring in Caleta Lago up Seno Chico We were anchored right under a waterfall and close to a Glacier.Very sheltered with two stern lines ashore.Today we left early and went two nm up the fiord and close to the foot of the glacier. We were surrounded by growlers and even small ice bergs and had to creep ahead so as not to hole the boat! Marta climbed the mast to take pictures - spectacular. By 1030 we were on our way again making our way out of canal Magdalina and into the Estrecho de Magallanes heading West again. The weather is still favourable - flat sea and light winds and we are hoping to arrive by nightfall in Bahia Mussel on Isla Carlos 111.An hour ago we stopped to watch two Humpback Whales alongside the boat.We are expecting the wind to get up to 30 knots by this evening so hoping we arrive before they do!!
Well they arrived too early and we dived into Caleta Gallent some 15nm short of Bahia Mussel and anchored in a sheltered lagoon with two anchors just in case!!
