We left Highborne Cay midday Wednesday and sailed
across the Great Bahama Bankat night entered the NW Providence Channel, into the
Straits of Florida crossing the Gulf Stream and arrived in the evening of
Thursday in Fort Lauderdale.
We berthed in the Municipal Dock next to SE 3rd
Street bridge in the New River. Met up with Lisa and Pierre from Biotrek who
helped us clear customs then we found a private dock which we are renting for
two months.We will move to the dock on Tuesday and pack the boat up for two
months. I have booked a flight to England returning on the 25th May. Marta and
Maciek are leaving Festina for pastures green, so looking for volunteers to help
me sail back to Europe in early June!
