After a 3 week stay we have left Bequia and are now bound for Carriacou after short stops in the Tobago Cays, Mayreau and Union. Bequia was a lovely Island. Beautiful beaches, nice people and a good anchorage even though some of the wind gusts that shrieked down the bay were very strong. Snorkelled our anchor every day but we had no problem though quite a number of others dragged. We had 45 metres of chain out in 5m of water !

 

Now in the Tobago Cays. Went to a ‘turtle watching’ beach but only managed to see a ray up very close. Then moved to a channel between 2 islands which we have now named ‘Turtle Alley’. Saw 5 on the surface at one time and we both went snorkelling and watched 2 of them up close. Great experience. Off to Mayreau this afternoon for a couple of nights, then Union to clear out and on to Carriacou for the regatta.
