180 miles to go.
A very varied trip so far. Horrible confused seas for the first 4 or 5 hours until we cleared the Desertas Islands. Mostly light northerly winds in the night interspersed with some heavy rain showers. Kept changing the sail pattern from wing and wing to a beam to broad reach. Also motored for 3 hours in calms. This morning lots of squally showers. Had the asymetric up but the wind increased and backed so we are back to a poled out no. 2 genoa and full main averaging between 7 and 8 kts. (As I was writing this Caroline hit 10.5 !).  No whales or dolphins as yet !
More tomorrow.
