Voyage to Portugal or Back and Beyond

Given that half this voyage will be going back on last year's and that I thought "The Back Passage" was a tad distasteful, my alternative title for the voyage is "Back and Beyond".
Despite all forecasts telling us the Channel crossing would be in force 5 dropping in the afternoon to a pleasant 4, it was 6 all the way!! This meant we made good time but at an angle 😜. We forgot the hour difference and arrived at Roscoff 10 minutes before the man signed off for the day. Luckily he was in a good mood and he showed us the way to our berth (down the berth canal?) and ordered us croissants for the morning. We (well chef/captain/engineer and general dogsbody, as opposed to galley slave) cooked sausages and we fell into a deep slumber.
