Day 20 July 15th 2017 Up the Auray avec paddle

Left Ile aux Moines far too early for comfort, to avoid crazy tides in the Golfe that wait for no person. Negotiated a suitable buoy (see pic 1!) in the upper reaches of the Auray but not so far up as to knock our mast off on the bridge. Took Derek, or rather he took us, to Port Bono (see pic 2), a delightful little port with equally delightful market, boulangerie and restaurant. Derek got us safely back despite delicious muscadet.

Plan to walk from Port Bono to Auray tomorrow and explore there. Then we really must start making headway towards Spain. Rain midweek; so probably be there by next weekend, as close to San Sebastián, to where my lovely cousin Judith escaped the family many decades ago. It'll be lovely to see her NOT at a funeral 😀😀

Can't get enough of these magnificent hydrangeas.
Cap'n still uninspired to blog. I'll have to confiscate his guitar.
